Claire is a wonderful treacher, who creates an atmosphere in the Shala, where you feel comfortable to practice. She provides individual guidance for each student without being dogmatic. Claire herself and her presence are unique and truly inspiring since she is authentic in what she teaches and you can really feel that. She has a strong presence and empathy, what makes it special to practice under her guidance. To sum it up...words can never describe the magic of a teacher student relationship. I definitely recommend to visit Claire and practice with her for everyone who is interested in learning the traditional ashtanga yoga method. Sandra GERMANY

Thank you so much for teaching such a wonderful workshop. The structure and format of the workshop were great. Your deep knowledge and love of the practice was inspirational. I especially loved the fact that the group was not too large so I got lots of great help and suggestions from you that will allow me to continue to deepen my practice. Thanks a million - Marita IRELAND

Thank U soooo much for a wonderfully life enhancing week . I learnt a lot not only on the physical practice of deepening , relaxing, surrendering and breathing into those very therapeutic asanas , but also about the importance of the sequence of the Ashtanga practice itself, about Parampara, faith, believing and fundamental complimentary Ayuverdia. I also learnt about the integration and application of life on and off the mat . Thank you for sharing your knowledge Claire - Paola SWITZERLAND
I really apreciated the afternoon program following the morning with a time dedicated to describe the movements in détails and the guided meditation….. I really regret not to be abble to be present the full week. Regis FRANCE
It was an absolute pleasure to stay in your Shala Claire, you made me feel really welcome. Ashtanga Yoga Shala Provence is a gorgeous place to relax, reflect and of course practice ashtanga with a gorgeous and amazing teacher.
Thank you again Claire, I won't forget you and I will make sure to come back next time I am in France. Stephanie, Melbourne AUSTRALIA
I had a wonderful stay at Claire's yoga guest house. It was clean, comfortable, cozy, beautiful, and of course super convenient to get to/from practice. Claire went out of her way to make sure that my friend and I had a good stay. I would definitely come back! Tiffany - London ENGLAND
“I have been practicing with Claire for more than a year. I live in Tunis and travel to practice under Claire's guidance several times a year. Claire is an authentic ashtanga teacher who has the personal experience of what this practice can give you and the knowledge (and authorization) to teach it. I've learned so much from her because she has the instinct to know when and how to encourage me to realize my own potential. She is an excellent teacher precisely because she knows how to adjust what she knows about yoga according to the needs of the one in front of her. She manages a wonderful shala with a beautiful energy --- her students radiate her own strong, peaceful, energy. In addition, the shala offers accommodations for visitors. When I visit, I stay in a room upstairs and have access to a fully equipped kitchen. The shala offers peace if you want to come only to practice and also offers access to a quaint village (close to local farms!) with Aix-en-Provence and Marseille easily accessible by bus or train. I sincerely enjoy my visits to Claire and Calas.” Melissa - Washington THE UNITED STATES
"Having been lucky enough to come to the Ashtanga Yoga Shala Provence (AYSP) guest rooms for an extended stay of a few months, I think I can now justify a few impressions of it. In short, it has been oasis in a crazy world, but a bit more detail on that. The old farmhouse has been comfortably converted with classic french furniture, while keeping the space clear and simple. It is a welcoming yet unfussy space for anyone seeking to deepen their practice, take time for self-study and reflection, or for an excellent base to explore the stunning scenery that surrounds the village. There is a well chosen bookshelf for all things yoga and Provence and many cosy places to read them from. The kitchen is well equipped, especially if you need to cater for particular diets. There is also a raft of restaurants (with vegetarian options, although vegans be warned) close-by, including a popular pizzeria, judging by the many locals who eat there. The rooms are light and airy with high ceilings and views onto the church with Sainte Vittoire mountain beyond, which looks a stunning blue purple in the dawn light. The beds are luxurious and a delight after long day’s practice. The location is in the heart of the village while still feeling restful, with thick old walls and tucked behind the baroque church. Of course, having the yoga room at arms length, and classes held there everyday, is a special opportunity both to further your practice but also meet many wonderful, generous people who are part of the yoga community around here. I can only say what an amazing experience it is to have traditional yoga in this intimate, uplifting setting, and in the heart of Provence countryside too. Perhaps not the place for party-goers but ideal for anyone looking for a supportive space for exploration, personal growth and the physical/philosophical aspects of yoga practice." Simon - Cambridge ENGLAND
"I stayed upstairs in one of the rooms at Ashtanga Yoga Shala Provence for five nights. From my bedroom upstairs, I could catch a glimpse of Mont Sainte-Victoire from one of the windows. The bedrooms upstairs are light-filled and beautifully decorated with crystal chandeliers and French furniture. It was a treat to practice with Claire, who is not only an advanced Ashtanga practitioner, but also a musician. Her adjustments are gentle but holistic and I learnt details of poses, particularly where to strengthen. The bus-stop is on the street right in front of the shala, and it's only 15 min away from Aix-en-Provence." Viviane SINGAPORE
"We loved our time at the Ashtanga Yoga Shala Provence. My mom and I spent several weeks joining the morning yoga sessions and staying in the onsite accommodation. The shala is peaceful and restful and is located in a beautiful town where we enjoyed several local restaurants. It's a short bus ride away from Aix-en-Provence where we took French classes in the afternoon. Claire's teaching is exceptional and both my mother and I were able to learn and progress at our own pace and skill level. Claire possesses a gentle energy that is inspiring. She also shared aspects of yoga principles that go beyond the physical practice. Our shared mother-daughter experience was truly a memorable one and we'd be fortunate to have the opportunity to return". Stacey and Allison - THE UNITED STATES
"Ashtanga Yoga Shala Provence was home for our family of four (2 children, 1 and 3 years old) during two weeks in summer this year. We decided to spend some family and yoga time in the South of France because the shala is situated close to lovely Aix-en-Provence, to magnificent Marseille and to several nice beaches with crystal clear blue water.
From the beginning, our host Claire made us feel really welcome. The accomodation is beautifully furbished and has a lot of space for the kids to play. Claire even provided some toys for the kids to play with, so we felt at home right from the moment we arrived.
Claire is a wonderful yoga teacher. You can feel her dedication with so many years of practice with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and R. Sharath Jois. She gives a lot of attention to your practice not only on a physical but also on a spiritual level. Our two weeks here brought more focus, clarity and strength to my practice. There is a warm energy in the shala and it was a joy to be practicing with this open and welcoming group of Ashtanga students.
I would absolutely recommend spending time at Ashtanga Yoga Shala Provence and I'd love to come back some time in the future." Katharina GERMANY
