The length of your class will depend on your level - it is common for students in the same class to finish at different times.  Classes for beginners last about 1 hour.  Classes for students with an established practice last around 1 hour and a half.
There are no classes on full or new moons
Class days and times will be modified during the school holidays
There are no classes on public holidays

 

WHEN to practice

As with learning anything, the more you commit, the more you learn.  Ashtanga Yoga is no exception. The benefits of Ashtanga Yoga are best experienced with consistent, long term practice.  In the Ashtanga Yoga system, it is traditional to practice 6 days a week with Saturday reserved as a day of rest.  

When beginning, however, committing to one or two days a weeks brings much positivity.  Then, as you strengthen and open, committing to more days of regular practice will bring you greater depth and understanding of this beautiful yoga sequence.

MOON DAYS

In the Ashtanga Yoga tradition, the days of the full and new moons are rest days.  There are no classes at Yoga Ashtanga Aix-En-Provence on full moon or new moons.

FEMALE STUDENTS

In Ashtanga Yoga, women do not practice during the first 3 days of their period.  Also, Sri K Pattabhi Jois advised pregnant women not to practice Ashtanga Yoga during their first trimester or for the first 3 months after giving birth.  Pregnant women who are beyond their first trimester are welcome to attend classes.

Please note that regular classes are not held during school holidays.  From time to time there will be special classes or workshops.  These classes are not included in yearly passes.  On request, it is also possible for students to have private classes (individual or small groups) during this time.  Please contact me directly if you are interested in private (individual or group) at clairephoebe@hotmail.com
